Workgroup Server (WGS)
Use case
We provide one or more Workgroup Servers (WGS) for every group at DESY, Zeuthen. These machines are usually equipped with fast cpus and big memory. Furthermore they run under the same Linux distribution (AlmaLinux) with the same software selection as the big batch computing resources. They are supposed to be used for the "every-day work" like:
- Software development
- Small simulations
- Data access
WGS provide access to all storage resources at DESY, Zeuthen:

You can access these systems directly from your desktop or notebook via ssh, if you are connected to the DESY network. From remote please use our remote login service.
