Group speakers or administrators can contact UCO to get webspace for their group on www-zeuthen.desy.de .
The AFS webspace will be available under
/afs/ifh.de/www/doc/<group> .

Required information:
1. desired URL of the website
e.g. https://www-zeuthen.desy.de/<group>
2. required webspace
3. responsible person for content
4. list of editors
5. maybe password protection or restricted access from a certain IP address

2. Personal webpages at DESY Zeuthen

All DESY staff can provide personal webpages via DESY Zeuthen webserver.

Access:
Files you want to access via www-zeuthen.desy.de must reside inside or under the AFS directory /afs/ifh.de/user/f/foobar/www and the access rights for webserver have to be read and lookup.

fs sa -dir /afs/ifh.de/user/f/foobar/www -acl webserver rl

The suitable file names for your personal webpage are index.html or index.htm .
Then the homepage is accessible via webserver under
http://www-zeuthen.desy.de/~foobar .
If these files do not exist in your www directory, a file listing is shown.
To restrict the access to a web directory create a .htaccess file in this directory. Please read the Apache Server Tutorial for more information.

Not supported:
- symbolic links on file system level
- dynamic pages (CGI, Perl, PHP, Python, SSI) as personal web pages

Backup:
Your personal webpages reside in your AFS home directory. Each night the state of this directory is retained in a special directory named /afs/ifh.de/user/f/foobar/.OldFiles. Here is the place to look for copies of files lost during the day.
